His first experience is actually the excursion from Thamasa to Dalmasca, which he makes in search of a legendary weapon called the Gi. He is unable to find it in his travels, but he discovers some type of clue from an unknown party penis and eventually makes it into Dalmasca after defeating his way through the town's dungeons. From that point, he sets out to search for a way to ruin the curse set on the town. Unfortunately, his attempts prove unsuccessful and he's killed in battle by Squall.
Following his death, the people of Dalmasca are forced to vow to serve the curse so as to prevent the Gi from slipping into the wrong hands and killing more people. Because of this, the narrative takes off at a brand new direction and becomes much more interesting.
